1.  BI-LINGUAL SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

 

The Center for Developmental Play and Learning (CDPL) is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist, CCC or CF considered.  Bi-lingual Preferred.

 

Ideally this individual would have prior training in the D.I.R. model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based) developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder. This individual might also be newer to D.I.R. but has prior experience in child development, providing intervention for children with special needs. This treatment model is described at

We are a group of highly trained and dedicated clinicians who work in the DIR model.   If you want to be part of a learning community, this is a fantastic opportunity. We can also supervise CF clinicians for required hours, with the expectation of a long-term placement.

The position consists of providing D.I.R. intervention, while working in their discipline, under the direct supervision of one of the Co-Directors of CDPL in Santa Barbara.

For this Position:

  • Fluency in Spanish

  • CCC or CF considered

  • Prior Experience working in Child Development and Early Start Intervention

  • Prior knowledge of the D.I.R. model preferred

  • Available afternoons - school-aged children are home after 1:30pm each day

  • A car for travel to home and center visits each day

  • Playful, physically active person who loves working with children

  • Poised individual comfortable in their ability to coach parents

 

This position will begin part-time but the expectation is that it will build up to full-time. Direct service will include working in the home with children using the DIR model, coaching families on specific techniques and issues discussed in supervision, videotaping several individual sessions each week for discussion in supervision and assisting in evaluations, as directed.

2.  CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - MENTAL HEALTH BACKGROUND

 

The Center for Developmental Play and Learning (CDPL) is seeking a Masters Level clinician already licensed, or working towards licensure in a field of mental health (Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology or Social Work). Ideally this individual would have prior training in the D.I.R. model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based) developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Dr. Serena Wieder. This individual might also be newer to D.I.R. but has prior experience in child development, providing intervention for children with special needs. We are a group of highly trained and dedicated clinicians who work within the framework of the DIR model.  If you want to be part of a learning community, this is a fantastic opportunity. We can also supervise MFT interns for hours, with the expectation of a long-term placement rather than a brief "internship" as we highly value the relationship we form with our families.

 

The position consists of providing D.I.R. intervention under the direct supervision of one of the Co-Directors of CDPL in Santa Barbara.

  • An MFT, MFTI, LCSW or Psychology Graduate working towards or already with a license.

  • Prior Experience working in Child Development and Early Start Intervention
